Chris Conway
Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist
I'm a licensed psychologist, and I provide virtual (i.e., telehealth) psychotherapy to New Yorkers. I work primarily with young adults and adults who want help navigating significant anxiety or depression. Please check out the other pages on my website to learn more about my background and approach to psychotherapy.

About Me
My therapy style is warm, dependable, and, above all, collaborative. I draw primarily on science-backed approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help people understand the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors—and to learn new, more flexible ways of responding to difficult emotions.
As a professor of Psychology at Fordham University in NYC, I stay up-to-date with the science behind effective psychotherapy. With my research team at Fordham, I’m studying how anxiety and depression develop and how they can best be treated. I’m the president/chair of several professional organizations dedicated to understanding mental health & psychotherapy, and I’m on the editorial boards of several leading journals in the mental health field.
Regarding my training, I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from Duke University and then earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from UCLA. I completed postdoctoral fellowships at UCLA’s Anxiety & Depression Research Center and Boston University’s Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders. My clinical research has been supported by the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation.
I live in Tarrytown, NY, with my wife & our two kids.
